About Occasions
Occasions was born in 1998 in Hanau Germany shortly after I had recieved my culinary certification. There was a great need for American food and someone familiar with military customs and ceremonies.
I enjoyed the creativity and the memories that came along with being a part of promotions, commands, hail and farwells,and so much more.
Once we moved back to the states I started catering for weddings and learned a lot about large group/formal serving. I found I enjoyed the wedding atmosphere and fancier food displays. I cultivated my ability to make fruit carvings and garnish in a more creative way.
After a few years I choose to put the passion I had for cooking creative meals and for events on a back burner and focused on my growing family. My cooking tunrned from beautifully sculpted melons to caseroles and baby food. My husband continued his service in the US Army and we continued to move around the world. This has given me a chance to try food and see ideas from many differnt places.
I just couldn't stay away from creative cooking for long. I took every oportunity to use my skills for each party. Our kids have the best food at thier parties, & my friends had fabulous baby and bridal showers. It was fun and it kept me fresh in my field.
Once our youngest entered pre-school I got a job thats main focus was event planning and I was on the other side of the table, hiring cateres and planning the events. I knew this would help alot to understand and work with future clients.
As our children get older my passion called and I am pleased to be catering again. I am back to cooking for friends and family because it is such a great hobby to make people happy with food. I just do not have a big enough event span with my close friends and family so I am expanding my circle! I'd love to meet you and make you my friend. I believe memories have a smell and a taste and that food has the power to bring those memories to life and move people to live in the moment of thier memories . I am making food memories along with special friends who are making life time memories.
